Sudogu ("we", "us") is a dog-themed Sudoku puzzle game available on web, iOS, and Android. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle data.
Data We Collect
We collect minimal data to provide the game experience:
- Username (optional): If you choose to submit a score to the leaderboard, we store the username you enter. This is not linked to any real identity.
- Game data: Scores, times, difficulty selections, and theme preferences are stored locally on your device using localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
- Email address (optional): If you submit your dog via the "Add Your Dog" form, we collect your email address solely to notify you about your submission. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
- Dog photo and information: If you submit your dog via the "Add Your Dog" form, we collect the photo and details you provide for the purpose of potentially including your dog in a future version of the game.
How We Use Your Data
- Usernames and scores are displayed on the public leaderboard.
- Email addresses collected through the "Add Your Dog" form are used only to contact you about your submission.
- Dog photos and information submitted through the form may be used in future versions of the game.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.
Third-Party Services
- Formspree: We use Formspree to process form submissions from the "Add Your Dog" page. Formspree may store submitted data on their servers. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
- GitHub Pages / Hosting: Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. See GitHub's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Game data is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by clearing your browser or app data. Email addresses and dog submissions are retained only as long as needed to process your submission. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
Sudogu is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The "Add Your Dog" form requires a parent or guardian to submit on behalf of a child.
